Expanding Access, Strengthening Communities

Health and Wellness

On March 11, 2026, Excelsior Wellness had the opportunity to present at the Northwest Rural Health Conference, where Anna Denney and Drew Comito shared a compelling vision for expanding behavioral health access across Washington State. They highlighted how we are meeting people where they are, especially in rural communities, through innovative telehealth solutions like the Virtual Intensive Engagement and Wraparound (VIEW) program.

Across Washington, rural communities face significant barriers to care, including long waitlists, transportation challenges, and limited provider availability. VIEW was designed to address these realities by delivering intensive outpatient behavioral health services virtually, helping reduce delays and connect individuals to care faster. Since its launch, the program has served 88 clients across multiple rural counties, demonstrating that access can be expanded without sacrificing quality.

Anna emphasized that telehealth is not about replacing local services, it’s about strengthening systems. By combining virtual care with strong local partnerships, we are building a more connected and responsive behavioral health network statewide.

One of the most memorable moments of the presentation came when Drew reflected on his father’s 40-year career as an Executive Chef, “BBQ sauce takes time to perfect.”

He shared how great outcomes, whether in cooking or care delivery, require a strong foundation and years of thoughtful refinement. Just as a chef builds flavor over time, Excelsior Wellness continues to evolve its telehealth model to better serve communities.

Looking ahead, the question isn’t whether virtual care works, it’s how we continue to refine it over the next decade. Excelsior Wellness remains committed to leading that evolution, ensuring that every individual, regardless of location, has access to the care they need to thrive.
