Advancing Our Wellness Village Vision – Early Learning Facility

Development, News, Services & Programs

We are thrilled to share another major milestone in our journey to bring our Wellness Village vision to life.

Excelsior Wellness has been awarded $102,025 in state funding to move forward with the predesign phase of a future early learning center, a key component of our broader vision to support children, families, and community well-being.

This investment is part of Washington State’s Early Learning Facilities program, which recently awarded millions of dollars to expand access to high-quality childcare and early learning opportunities across the state. These grants are expected to create more than 2,000 new childcare spaces statewide, helping meet a critical need for working families.

Within Spokane County, several organizations received funding to help design, build, or expand early learning facilities, including predesign support for projects like ours.

For us, this award represents more than funding, it’s momentum.

The predesign phase will allow us to begin shaping what our early learning facility can become: a welcoming, high-quality space that nurtures young children while supporting families and strengthening our community. As part of our Wellness Village vision, this center will play a foundational role in creating a continuum of care and opportunity from early childhood onward.

We are deeply grateful to the State of Washington and all partners who recognize the importance of investing in early learning. We are thankful for our early learning partners, Lilac City Early Learning Center and Jasmin Group, who will continue to support the predesign work for our Early Learning Facility. Access to quality childcare is essential, not only for children’s development, but for the economic stability and well-being of families across our region.

This is an exciting step forward, and we look forward to sharing more as our vision continues to take shape.

Together, we are building something meaningful, for today’s families and for generations to come.
