Introducing Bridge: A New Pathway to Stability and Independence for Young Adults

Health and Wellness

At Excelsior Wellness, we believe that every young person deserves a safe, supportive environment to thrive, especially during life’s most vulnerable transitions. That’s why we’re proud to announce the launch of Bridge, a new 90-day transitional housing program designed to empower young adults as they move from inpatient or residential treatment back into the community.

What Is Bridge?

Bridge is more than just a housing program, it’s a lifeline. Created under House Bill 1929 (2024), Bridge is part of a statewide initiative to reduce homelessness among young adults exiting behavioral health inpatient care. The program is implemented in partnership with the Washington State Health Care Authority (HCA) and NorthStar Advocates, and is rooted in our commitment to recovery-focused, person-centered care.

Who Bridge Serves

Bridge is open to young adults ages 18–24 who:

  • Have recently completed inpatient or residential treatment (within the last 30 days)
  • Are lacking safe, stable housing or are at immediate risk of homelessness
  • Are ready to work with a supportive team to take the next steps toward independence

All insurance types are accepted, and assistance is available for those who are currently uninsured.

Why Bridge Matters

Research shows that young people exiting inpatient behavioral health treatment are the largest group at risk of homelessness within 3 to 12 months of discharge. Bridge addresses this critical gap by offering:

  • Short-term housing
  • Individualized support
  • A structured environment that promotes wellness, stability, and personal growth

By helping young adults chart their own path forward, Bridge reduces the risk of homelessness and fosters long-term success.

A Community of Support

Bridge is part of Excelsior’s broader mission to guide young people into adulthood with compassion and empowerment. Through programs like LifePoint, therapeutic recreation, peer support, and care coordination, we’re building a community where healing and independence go hand in hand.
